Declaration of Independence (4th July)

This year's July 4th cartoon is a modern take on the Declaration of Independence following on from my 2011 John/Abigail Adams DIY gag.  Given current events the idea that government derives its powers from the consent of the governed is as radical now as it was then.

ps. We all recognised the likeness to Trumbell's Declaration of Independence painting didn't we?
